COVID-19 / Coronavirus

Update 15 March: The Dutch Government has decided today all sports facilities have to close as of today 18:00 up and until 6 April. Of course this means we will be closing our doors today at 18:00 and will open on Tuesday 7 April  at 13:00 at the earliest. We will keep you updated on the developments! In the meantime stay healthy!

The Dutch Government has announced today (12 March 2020) all people with flue or flue-like and/or other mild health problems should stay home and avoid all social contacts until they are completely well again. Furthermore all events with over 100 participants are to be cancelled, these new measures are in place at least until April 1st.

All this also has it’s impact on Delfts Bleau. At busy times we surpass the number of 100 people inside the gym. We expect things will get (a lot) more quiet now and we probably will not reach this numbers anymore, but we will be keeping an eye on the number of people inside to make sure we stay below this (or any updated) number of people, but we will stay open (for now). There’s a chance you’ll have to wait a bit before you’re allowed in if you arrive at a busy moment. Please consult Google Maps for the busiest hours.

We take the corona virus very serious. Although most customers climbing in Delfts Bleau are fit and healthy people, we do take some precautions to prevent the virus from spreading. We follow the guideline of the RIVM and ask for your cooperation:

  • Don’t come bouldering if  you have a (mild) cold or flue-like symptoms. Sore throat, blocked nose, sneezing, couching? Please stay home if you experience any of this.
  • If you’re not allowed to go work or university because of the RIVM regulations, you cannot boulder either.
  • Don’t come bouldering for at least two weeks if you have visited one of the risk areas in The Netherlands or if you have been in contact with persons infected.
  • Pay via contact free pin.
  • Wash your hands utterly wel before and after bouldering.  It goes without saying you always wash your hands before and after going to the toilet.
  • Avoid contacting your mouth, eyes, nose with your hand(s) during bouldering.
  • Avoid physical contact.
  • Wash your hands thoroughly when you take a bite or a drink in between bouldering.
  •  You need to sneeze or cough? Please do so in your elbow, but not in your hands or even your chalkbag. Should you show symptoms we’ll have to ask you to end your bouldering session and to go home.

We all have to be precautious. The next things will differ from what you’re used to:

  • No candy jar.
  • No rental chalk bags.
  • No woodstoks/brushes. You can still use your own but don’t try to blow of all the chalk okay?
  • No cookies with your coffee or tea.
  • No pizzas.
  • No water cans with fresh herbs & fruit on the bar. Please bring your own bottle (and don’t forget to take it back home to wash it).

Despite all the effort the coronavirus could still be spreading. The Government can therefore still decide to take extra measures which may very well effect our gym. Effects you could think of are opening hours, staff, cancellation of trainings and even closing of the gym. We do our utmost keeping up to date via the City Council, the GGD and the RIVM and will keep you informed via this website and social media.

Help putting a stop to this virus and do whatever you can, however small. Stay safe!

FOR NOW WE ARE (STILL) OPEN!
